Shorthand Writing ✍️

Hi! Paola here…

I think it was last year when I wrote a note to myself to share this finding about what it was Shorthand Writing and I just let it sit there for a year 🙈 it´s kind of embarrassing to accept it but this is what usually happens. The worst part (in my head at least) is that it was just something so short that I could have just shared it in a couple of minutes but I decided to let it sit there for a while, maybe notes are like a wine 🍷 and I’m just noticing now.

Now, I’ll just go to the point before I turn this post in a 500 pages thesis.

To be honest, I don’t remember where I found this topic anymore, I think it was an article online.

First I’ll start sharing the definition:

Shorthand is an abbreviated symbolic writing method that increases speed and brevity of writing as compared to longhand, a more common method of writing a language.

Wikipedia
The Lord’s Prayer in Gregg and a variety of 19th-century systems

This is such and awesome idea to write faster. What do you think? I think that I could even create my own system. The downside probably is that you have to learn a whole new system of writing and I don’t think I’ll be doing that soon, I have enough studying Illustration. But maybe it will be helpful for you and you would like to give it a try:

WikiHow

Another thing I can’t believe is that I didn’t know about this until I was 35 years old 🙀. Maybe if you’re a young student willing to learn one more thing here is a new useful challenge. Now, my question for you fictitious student: Is this system as good as it promises?
