Sailor Moon outfits inspiration 🌙

This morning I found this video that describe the inspiration for different outfits that some characters wear in the anime Sailor Moon. This video was so well made that I wanted to share it with you:

Something that didn’t crossed my mind before I watched this video was that the creator of Sailor Moon Naoko Takeuchi probably used the clothes from all those fashion designers as references for her drawings 😲. Down below I share some side by side examples of Naoko’s illustrations and the outfits she probably got inspired by:

Before I was studying illustration I didn’t know the importance of references and how many and how much professional illustrators use them, Did you know about this? I would like to talk about that for a future post 🤔, I’ll add it to my list 🗒.

By the way, sorry for being away for so long but these past weeks I was feeling very sick and I decided not to push myself too much; on a second thought, I couldn’t push myself either because I had headaches and vertigo 😵‍💫 so not much of my decision 😅.
